Arizona Building and Construction Trades Council endorses two candidates for Tempe City Council race in March

TEMPE, Ariz. – Jan. 10, 2018 – The Arizona Building and Construction Trades Council (AZBTC) – a labor organization comprised of affiliated construction trade organizations representing more than 11,000 construction workers in Arizona – is proud to endorse Lauren Kuby and Genevieve Vega for Tempe City Council.

Councilmember Lauren Kuby was first elected to the council in 2014 and has been a strong advocate for the trades throughout her tenure. She has led Tempe’s efforts for earned sick days and a living wage, and emphasizes the importance of highly skilled workers who graduate from the trades’ apprenticeship programs.

Genevieve Vega is running for an open seat on the Council and has already shown her commitment to Tempe’s working families. Her campaign platform focuses on new developments that create new jobs and how Tempe can best support working families through improved policies.

AZBTC looks forward to continuing its work with Lauren Kuby and Genevieve Vega on policies that create union jobs and support working families. The Tempe City Council election will be held on March 13, 2018.
