While Arizona residents take drastic measures to increase social distancing, “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of COVID-19, government leaders and health care experts are evaluating resources and preparing for the eventual surge in very sick patients who need specialized medical care and facilities. Arizona State Building & Construction Trades Council has contacted Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Maricopa, Pima and Pinal Board of Supervisors, and the Cities of Phoenix, Tempe and Tucson about possibly retrofitting big box and repurposing empty facilities into temporary medical emergency care centers to treat COVID-19 patients who need critical care in an overloaded system.

We are in critical times and our men and women in the construction trades are ready to partner with the government and military to serve our community in a time or need.
