AZBTC Apprentice Readiness Training Director Solomon Galyon and Instructor Corey Knopp and graduates of the first cohort: Albert Morales, Armando Arellano, Demitria Wendt, John Fraire, Jose Manuel Hernandez, and Julian Cruz

Congratulations to the first cohort to graduate from the Trades Build Futures Apprenticeship Readiness Program coordinated by AZBTC in partnership with Las Artes Arts and Education, Pima County Community and Workforce Development, and SER Jobs for Progress. Students Albert Morales, Armando Arellano, Demitria Wendt, John Fraire, Jose Manuel Hernandez, and Julian Cruz completed the accelerated six-week program and celebrated with family, friends, community leaders, and instructors.

Every student graduated with a full-time job and a spot in an AZBTC-affiliated apprenticeship program where they will earn while they learn and graduate with no debt into high-paying, high-demand careers. The program helps each student build a solid foundation that will help them be successful as they continue their education as apprentices.

Congratulations to the graduates, and to all of the union leaders and community partners who helped launch this program.

We especially want to thank Program Director Solomon Galyon for his dedication, his passion and his determination to launch this program and more like it.

The next cohort starts in early November. AZBTC is focused on partnering with other organizations throughout the state to grow and create more opportunities for Arizonans who are interested in careers in the skilled trades. For more info, visit the AZBTC website.
