Arizona Building and Construction Trades Council

News

By coming to an agreement, the state will solidify a marque venue remains state-of-the-art, ensures our hometown team, the Arizona Diamondbacks maintain their presence and produce high quality local jobs for Arizona’s workers. While public funds must be carefully distributed, this opportunity to improve Chase fields provides a rare opportunity to improve Arizona sites, increase the number of high-quality local jobs and support a long-standing institution.

With a signed agreement in place, the Arizona Building & Construction Trades Council is excited to partner with both the Arizona Legislature and the Diamondbacks to complete a much-needed project.

With this agreement, the AZBTC is confident that:

  • Arizona workers will be prioritized over out-of-state contractors.
  • Apprenticeship programs will be included to train the next generation of tradespeople.
  • Construction will be done under safe working conditions with fair wages.
  • Arizona’s economy will benefit from keeping taxpayer-funded jobs local.

The Arizona Building & Construction Trades Council urges lawmakers to advocate for inclusion of HB 2704 in our state budget—so that Arizona’s workers, not just rich owners and developers, reap the benefits of these public investments.
